About Me
I’m Holly Davis, the counsellor behind At Home Therapy. My counselling journey grew from a genuine interest in people and a strong belief in the importance of having a safe, supportive space where you can be heard without judgement. I have always been drawn to listening, understanding, and sitting alongside others during difficult or uncertain times.
Alongside my professional training, I also bring lived experience of mental health struggles, including OCD. This has deepened my understanding of how complex, personal, and isolating emotional difficulties can feel, and has strengthened my commitment to offering therapy that is compassionate, respectful, and non-judgmental. While my experiences inform my empathy, the focus of our work is always on you and what you need.
Through my training, I have learned the value of slowing down, being present, and trusting the therapeutic relationship. I work in a person-centred way, which means I believe you are the expert in your own life. My role is not to fix or direct, but to offer empathy, acceptance, and understanding as you explore what feels important for you, at your own pace.
My learning has helped me develop a strong awareness of boundaries, ethics, and reflective practice. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in line with their Ethical Framework. I engage in regular supervision to ensure my work remains safe, thoughtful, and focused on your well-being. Completing my counselling training has also highlighted the importance of continued learning, and I am committed to ongoing professional development as I grow as a practitioner.
